Training

Trainers Paul & Alice Howe, owners of Canine Obedience Center for the past 25 years, have moved their obedience, agility, and puppy classes to Leashes & Leads. They are trainers and handlers of multiple High in Trial Dogs in AKC and CKC venues, while they have multiple advance AKC obedience and agility titled dogs. In fact, Alice, with her golden retriever Bobbi, was the 1st Minnesota team to achieve both Agility and Obedience Championship titles! With the addition of the Howe’s to the Leashes and Leads team, you will receive the same superior training expertise as before but now at a new and fabulous location.

Leashes & Leads provides a state of the art training facility that will meet your needs and those of your beloved animal. We offer puppy, basic obedience, agility, conformation classes and private training sessions.

Puppy classes focus on socialization skills, introduce pups and their handlers to obedience commands, and provide plenty of info on canine behavior. $60

• Puppy I: 6 sessions

              Age 10 weeks to 5 months. Will need to present shot records, including Bordetella.

              Tuesdays, 6 p.m. 1 hour Next class begins January 6, 2009 through February 10, 2009

              NEW Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. 1 hour Class begins January 7, 2009 through

              February 11, 2009 (minimum of 8 participants are needed)

             

• Puppy II: 6 sessions,

              Participants of this class must have completed Puppy I.

             Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. 1 hour Next class begins January 6, 2009 through February 10, 2009

 

• Class sizes are limited.

Basic Obedience/Manners classes are structured to build a close relationship between you and your dog. And yes, we address dog “issues”. $90  Will need to present shot records, including Bordetella.

• Basic Dog Obedience: 8 sessions, Mondays, 10:30 a.m.

• Basic Dog Obedience: 8 sessions, Mondays, 6:15 p.m. 1 hour

              Next class begins January 5, 2009 through February 23, 2009

 

• Basic Dog Obedience: 8 sessions, Mondays, 7:30 p.m. 1 hour

              Next class begins January 5, 2009 through February 23, 2009

• Class sizes are limited.

Agility & Conformation classes are taught by instructors whose background in agility & conformation includes regular participation in seminars and competitions.

• Agility I:  8 sessions, Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. 1 hour $104

              Next class begins January 7, 2009 through February 25, 2009 

• Agility II: 8 sessions, Wednesdays, 7:15 p.m. 1 hour $104

              Next class begins January 7, 2009 through February 25, 2009  FULL

• Advanced Agility: 8 sessions, Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. & 7:15 p.m. FULL

• Anyone entering Agility Classes at Leashes & Leads must have either attended the Puppy 1 and 2 sequence or attended Basic Obedience. No aggressive dogs allowed in classes.

• Conformation: $10 per session, Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. Drop-ins welcome.

Winter training sessions may be subject to change due to inclement weather, thus end dates may be adjusted to accommodate these unexpected changes.

Private Training sessions: $25 per half-hour.

Please call ahead for availability. Open mat time: $10 an hour / dog, 2nd Team: $5 an hour/dog.
